Promises to Keep (PTK) is a queer, furry, safe-for-work (16+) visual novel. v0.2 is now available! This version has around 3-4 hours of content, featuring an original soundtrack of 15 songs, over 50 beautifully drawn backgrounds and fully-illustrated CGs, and nearly 100 unique character sprites. A promise is the greatest, most significant thing anyone can make, in a reality where nothing is permanent. They are guarantees we make to one another, knowing that guarantees are fruitless; their existence contradicts the fleeting, temporary nature of our universe. Yet, they live on in the face of this futility.
So, what happens when the promises you make to yourself go cold? When your promises to others are left empty?
PTK follows the journey of a post-college snow leopard after returning to his childhood home. After a year of wishful thinking, living in the footsteps of his past and the childhood promises he has yet to fulfill, he's convinced there's nothing more for him here. Then, disaster strikes.
Join him in a story of deep self-discovery, reunion, and light-hearted romance as he grows with a vibrant group of individuals brought together by unlikely circumstances.

Thoroughly enjoyed this hidden gem of a work in progress visual novel. I would like to thank the itch.io furry tag for bringing me here.
To the team behind it: The premise is interesting, the characters are fun and interesting, the music choices were nice, and of course the sprites and cgs were really good. Rare for a version 0.2 to have diverse emotive sprites for their characters, as well as the cgs present too.
All in all, enjoyed it, and look forward to what you'll all make next.

Does android got the new update
Yes! The Android build is in the devlog with the new update!
This caught my eye recently and I just had to try it. Gotta hand it to y'all! A great game and still in development. I think this game is kicking off to a brilliant start.
All the characters are great, each with their own past (with our main protagonist having a more disturbed past than the others I reckon).
In addition, I suspect that the game is inspired or based off of the poem Stomping by the woods on a snowy evening by Robert Frost? 'Cause during the 'dream scene' I find the words similar to it.
I could be wrong there, but feel free to correct me! Also, I noticed some errors on the grammar, just one or two, other else than that, I think the game might become well known among the community!

I've read quite a few furry visual novels over the past year or so, but this has to be one of, if not the most comfy ones yet. The art, music, and story all play really well together to create a very peaceful and enjoyable read. I honestly don't know I'd I could pick a favorite from the cast. They all have certain things that really stand out and draw me in. I think Theo is probably the one I'm most interested. I have a thing for older men, sue me. :P One quick question though, what is the age of all the cast members? I can't 100% remember, but I believe everyone other than Theo would be in their early-ish twenties, and I know Artemis mentioned Theo being in his thirties. I can't remember if anything more specific was given.
The cast don't have super specific ages, but you have it right! Theo is a bit older than the rest, and Hunter is the youngest/still in college. Everyone else is in-between!
I haven't finished all the routes... but Theooo why are you so dreamyyyy why are you so hottt why do I desire u so much qwq

PtK has fast become a feel good VN for me~ 😌 it's mushy in all the right ways and just serious enough for it not to be clawingly sweet 😋 I'm a pretty big fan of NSFW, but I 100% stand behind the choice to keep this project clean 🙂
I think it was a real clever artistic decision to add piercings to Artemis's beanie (as he doesn't have ears) to make him look more punk rock 😉
Might I make a suggestion concerning the scene where the power goes out? I think Hunter's response to Arti's aggressive approach was a little tame. He doesn't have to go full on jock, but I think Hunter being more assertive would not just feel more natural (unless he doesn't do well with conflict), but it would also help to make the situation feel a little more tense. Just a suggestion of course.
Omg, Ollie is too damn adorable for his own good! 😳 And that's saying a lot, because Rofi is dogdamn adorable~ ☺️ really liked his reaction to being asked about dating Artemis.

Honestly this is a very solid vn with a nice premise and fantastic execution. The character designs are unique and pleasant on the eyes.
However the phone sound effect sounds exactly like how my phone buzzes on my desk, so I always check it every time it's used.
Honestly really looking forward to the development of this vn!
Is this a Kinetic VN or one that has choices?
We would say it's closer to a Kinetic VN (where each route has a story that won't change significantly) than a traditional VN where there are bad endings and alternate routes. The biggest choice for the player will be the character they'd like to get closer to and the routes themselves will influence how the other characters' stories go (e.g. getting closer to character A might mean character B does something different in the background of A's route).

That was the idea behind a January release ;) super glad you liked what you saw so far! An android version of the game is definitely on our to-do list and we plan to make it happen at some point -- we'll update this page with future plans soon!!
How many routes are there going to be in this?
We're planning to have five routes -- one for each of the five characters you meet in the pilot!

wow, this was really cute and cozy. an atmospheric slice of life. it pulls you into the main character's world right away. all the characters personalities are pretty well defined so far. also, production value is through the roof and all the art and music are so well made >w<
loved the first build. seems like it's gonna be a slow-paced, but nonetheless enjoyable vn. looking forward to see where this goes!
