Promises to Keep (PTK) is a queer, furry, safe-for-work (16+) visual novel. Please be warned that while entirely safe-for-work, PTK does feature themes of religious & familial trauma, injury, mental illness, minor body horror, and homophobia. Some scenes may not be suitable for individuals with epilepsy (but there are in-game warnings for these scenes). v0.6 is now available (up to Day 3 of every route). This version has around 10 hours of content, featuring an original soundtrack of 20+ songs, 50+ beautifully drawn backgrounds and fully-illustrated CGs, and 100+ unique character sprites. A promise is the greatest, most significant thing anyone can make, in a reality where nothing is permanent. They are guarantees we make to one another, knowing that guarantees are fruitless; their existence contradicts the fleeting, temporary nature of our universe. Yet, they live on in the face of this futility.
So, what happens when the promises you make to yourself go cold? When your promises to others are left empty?
PTK follows the journey of a post-college snow leopard after returning to his childhood home. After a year of wishful thinking, living in the footsteps of his past and the childhood promises he has yet to fulfill, he's convinced there's nothing more for him here. Then, disaster strikes.
Join him in a story of deep self-discovery, reunion, and light-hearted romance as he grows with a vibrant group of individuals brought together by unlikely circumstances.

Without spoiling, there's some red text over some red background assets in the first part of the 0.6 update and it makes it REALLY hard to read, I just thought that should be put out there.

Imagine an ending where we may not disengage with anyone (be withdrawn), or we may socialize less frequently with everyone. And in the end after all the events, we still move away, alone..... You could call it a harsh bad ending

This is by far the best VN I've ever read, I love the music and how it matches the moods in the story, the character design is amazing and so cute lol. I've only done Rofi's route so far and I already can't get enough. To everyone that is working on this VN, you're amazing. I hope to see more updates in the future. (Especially that doofus dog :3)

Ollies update is amazing <3 I love his charakter, the way he thinks and see's the Universe. Keep up the good work :) I haven't even tried any of the other routes, but thats always something i have i hard time in VN's, i can't pick another route because i would feel bad for the one charakter i really care about.

if you translating in Spanish, you should write to developers and offer to help them if you know how to translate into Spanish accurately. Sorry if there is something wrong here, I use a translator, I don't even know English well.

PtK has been a feel good story for me from the first build, and it’s been so great following the story’s progress ☺️
After Ollie’s latest update, I have to ask… Is he autistic? I had an inkling from the beginning, but after this last build, I’m like, fully convinced he’s on the spectrum 😋 and if this is the case (or even if it isn’t) can I ask if he was contrived with ASD in mind?

So exited for the new update. I want to support creators and create v0,6 polish translation for the game, witch all gramatics etc. (polish is my native language)
Nah bro, don't. I've been making Polish translation for like 3 months now. It's like 5:50 in the morning rn and I'm playing some furry game for the 15th time correcting my translation. Turns out it's a lot harder than I thought. I'm slowly regretting my life decisions...

How do you translate the game? Do you just change random text files and edit pics when nessecary?
I believe there are two ways to do this. The simple way is to decompile the scripts.rpa in the game folder using a decompiler, replace english lines with translated ones and compile afterward. The second way (propably more proper one) I went with is to decompile and generate empty translation strings through the Ren'Py SDK, then add translated lines in the bottom empty strings (finished result in the pic). The second option supports multiple languages, but you have to add language selector in the options menu and set deafult language. You don't have to modify any images.
